Bio

Cherie Smith-Mosbey is a former criminal defense investigator where every domestic violence case she handled ended in homicide. She also ‘toxic dream life’ survivor, where she struggled for years to leave her unhealthy marriage of 21 years. In her book ‘Dare to Leave So You Can Live’ sha shares what she learned as an investigator by teaching how domestic violence evolves and relationships escalate so women can get out before the relationship turns violent or deadly.

“Director-Producer Ritu Chopra’s documentary, “Lead my Way: a Global Perspective of Domestic Violence,” deepens my understanding of myself and this issue every time I watch it. Each time it showed new ways that domestic violence affects all of us, whether we realize it or not. The passion of the filmmaker and the compassion of the experts and survivors interviewed in the film allowed me see how domestic violence touches me directly, and across generations. “Lead My Way” gives me hope that together, we can break these chains and replace them with bonds of love, not only in my family, but in human society the world over.

Steffen Hou (born 1975) is a Danish author and filmmaker who lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a true crime author, he has worked all over the world and written about topics such as ‘Child Abductions’, ‘Ku Klux Klan’, ‘The White Supremacy Movement’, ‘Human Trafficking’ and ‘The Death Penalty’. 
 
Steffen Hou emphasizes that he always describe problems through the people who are victims of them rather than through experts sitting at their desk. Therefore he always follows his main characters closely over a period of time and he is not afraid to put himself in danger zones. He is also known to tell his stories in a captivating and engaging way so readers feel that they have a good reading experience.
