Bio

Stacy Blanchet was born on June 24, 1965, in San Diego, California. Her parents are of Cuban, French and Lebanese descent. She is the elder of two children. By the age of four she would see her parent’s divorce. By age 11, with her mother’s second divorce, Stacey quickly learned that nothing lasts forever. It was during the second divorce that Stacey was sexually abused by a relative, and expected to keep quiet and deal with those demons alone. It was those two incidents that forever shaped her life in ways she would not know until years later. Deciding to seek help at the age of 19 for what she would call her dark years, she met therapist, Gerry Limpic. He would be the first of many to change the course of her life. He believed and fought for her rights. He felt it was necessary to expose and remove Stacey from this toxic family situation.

Bio

Latvian-born Faye Kitariev is a former US figure skating coach and choreographer. Over a twenty-year professional career, Faye coached and choreographed numerous national and international skaters, including US national champion and Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen and world bronze medalist Johnny Weir. After the 2006 Olympic Games, Faye turned her attention to performance psychology, and why some athletes reach their full potential while others fall far short. Her study of personal growth and development led her to fields as diverse as sports psychology, yoga, meditation, tai chi, aikido, and hypnosis, resulting in her receiving an MA in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year.[2] In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women for their economic, political, and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended the culture of many countries, primarily in Europe, especially those in the Soviet Bloc.[3] In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for people to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. In other regions, however, the political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner. Bio

I began my career as an elementary teacher in the West Des Moines School District. At Iowa Public Television, I wrote educational content for the K-12 Connections Team, serving teachers and students in more than two-hundred Iowa school districts. My dream to publish a children’s picture book began on a “fairy-wing” and a prayer. With the encouragement of friends and family, I am living my dream as a children’s author. When I’m not chasing dust bunnies, or our two cats, I like to cuddle up with a good book and our son. My family lives in Waukee, Iowa.
