Empowering and Inspiring Women Globally- Angry Enough to Kill, S.J.Dunn 03/06 by DiannaBelleRose | Women Podcasts.

Bio

S.J. Dunn is a Canadian living in Mexico. A writer and editor she has had a variety of fascinating careers – including corporate lawyer, drug prosecutor, property manager, bookkeeper and keyboard player with a Cuban band in Cancun.
“One truism often repeated to writers is that you must write what you know (not entirely true, in my opinion.) However, my heroine is a stockbroker, skeet shooter, Karate expert, and murderer; I’ve working in the investment business, have shot skeet, studied Kenpo, and, yes, I’ve thought about murdering on at least a few occasions, haven’t you?

Empowering and Inspiring Women Globally-Bone Song, B. A. Goodjohn 02/27 by DiannaBelleRose | Women Podcasts

Empowering and Inspiring Women Globally-Bone Song, B. A. Goodjohn 02/27 by DiannaBelleRose | Women Podcasts.

Slide1

Bone Song won the Liam Rector First Prize for Poetry in 2014. The prize included publication and copies will be available from April 2015.

Sarah Kennedy nailed the essence of the book in her jacket blurb. Bone Song IS about scars, about how childhood leaves its mark on us forever. Some of those marks become silvery with time, more shadow than scar. Some remain livid. Others, like oysters building pearl around the irritation of sand, form layers of padding against future damage.

B.A. Goodjohn’s first novel, Sticklebacks and Snow Globes (Permanent Press) made the Kirkus Best of 2007 list. Her second novel, The Beginning Things (Underground Voices) is due for publication in November 2015. Her collection, Bone Song, won the 2014 Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry and will be published through Briery Creek Press (Longwood University) in April 2015. She teaches English at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia and is the Director of the Writing Program and Tutoring Services. She has also published poetry and fiction in various literary journals including The Texas Review, Zone 3 and Connecticut Review. http://www.bagoodjohn.com

“Most of the time, for me, writing is about sitting down and tapping on a keyboard. It’s not fun, and I can tap for hours before a decent word, let alone a line, appears on the screen. But sometimes, something happens when I’m at the keyboard. I start to type and I think it’s going to be one of those tapping days, and suddenly, it starts. It’s almost audible. Like something crawls up onto my shoulder and whispers, “go go go go go go go go go” in my ear and then slides away. And I pause for a moment, then the words and images start piling up in that weird place between my ears and my eyes, and then they’re there, on the screen and I don’t really feel as if I’m the one typing them but I’m the only one in the room, the only one with my fingers on the keys and the words are about me and mine and people I’ve never ever met before…it’s magical. That’s why I do it.”

Come. Witness. Uniqueness.

The unforgettable ambient sounds of Sue G. Wilkinson and Michael Cady are trance-like and highly melodic, powered by breathtaking vocals that can only be categorized as one of a kind. Blessed with an “amazing vocal range”, Sue has not only the power to blow down a brick house, but a jaw dropping sense of versatility and emotional capacity. Classically trained, she has been described by veterans of the music business as “dripping with talent”. Michael Cady joins Sue live, using a powerful looping station and a 7 string bass he designed and commisioned! Truly a tour de force! Sue’s musical life with bassists are a lucky one indeed. Some of the songs you might hear her play were co written with Patrick Ohearn who is currently the producer and bassist for John Hiatt. And last but not least, Michael O’Bannon lends his striking imagery to many of S&M’s live shows and work at planetariums. Private House Concerts are yet another way to experience S&M..an awesome opportunity for fellowship and a special way to entertain and feed peoples souls You’ll walk away from S&M’s performance feeling like you’ve been on an unique journey. The buzz has started!

Empowering and Inspiring Women Globally-Maybe Today, Author Mandy Trouten 07/25 by DiannaBelleRose | Women Podcasts.

About Mandy Trouten

I live in South Carolina, where I was born and raised. I graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Computer Design and Drafting, later returning for another degree in Multimedia. I love to read, write, create graphics, watch movies, play online games, hang out with family members/friends and network. More than anything, I enjoy helping victims/survivors of abuse in their path to healing. I have always said I would undo the abuse and its effects in a heartbeat, but I am grateful for the opportunity God gave me to use my experience. I grew up hearing that there’s a silver lining to every cloud and I used to think “not this one.” In time, I realized “not this one yet.” If I had never had to experience the undeserved attentions of classmates, my life might have been normal. I might have gotten the career in architecture that I’ve always dreamed of, but I would not be a part of the fight against abuse because I would know nothing about it. That’s my silver lining.
